Terraform Associate
Terraform Associate practice questions
The HashiCorp infrastructure-as-code certification — adaptive practice for the workflow, state discipline, and module fluency the exam tests.
The HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate validates working IaC fluency: roughly an hour of multiple-choice and multiple-select questions over the public objectives — IaC concepts, Terraform’s purpose and workflow (write → plan → apply), HCL basics, state (the exam’s center of gravity: what it is, why it’s sensitive, remote backends, locking, and the surgery commands), modules and reuse, providers and versioning, provisioners as a last resort, workspaces, and the Community/Cloud/Enterprise feature split.
The exam’s classic misses are all confusables — plan vs apply vs refresh, count vs for_each, taint vs import vs state mv, variable definition versus variable value files — and confusables are what adaptive drilling kills. Keentune’s terraform skill hits every objective with scenario-grounded items, and the neighboring cloud and deployment skills round out the platform context. Every explanation names the pair being confused and ends with the rule. Original questions from the public objectives and open docs — never real exam items.
Or take a timed drill — 20 questions, 25 minutes
A focused drill on one section under a real clock — not a full practice exam, and never a predicted Terraform Associate score.

Terraform Associate practice — FAQ
How hands-on is the Terraform Associate?
It’s a knowledge exam (no live terminal), but written as if you were at one — expect “what does this command do to state,” “what happens on the next apply,” and reading short HCL snippets. If you’ve run a real Terraform project through a few plan/apply cycles, the scenarios will feel familiar; if not, spin one up alongside your drilling.
What’s the most-tested topic?
State, in every direction: why it exists, why it must be protected (it can contain secrets), remote backends and locking, and the commands that manipulate it (import, state mv, replace/taint). If you can narrate exactly what each command changes — code, state, or infrastructure — you’re ready for that whole cluster.
Community vs Cloud vs Enterprise — how much do I need?
Enough to place features: remote runs, Sentinel policy enforcement, private module registries, and team/governance features belong to Cloud/Enterprise tiers, while the core CLI workflow is free. The exam asks “which edition gives you X” style questions — a small, memorizable map.
