Dig Site

Dig Site is a logic puzzle about digging for fossils. Every dug square shows a number — how many fossils are buried in the squares around it — and the job is to dig every safe square and mark every fossil. A wrong dig never ends the run: the square puts itself right and the clock jumps forward, a little more each time.

No board ever needs a guess. Before a game is dealt, the game solves it from its opening move by logic alone, one proven step at a time, and a board it cannot finish that way is thrown away. So whenever you are stuck there is always a step the numbers prove — and the two-step hint will ring the numbers that prove it, then explain the step, for a little time.

There are five worlds of twelve levels, and each adds a rule: Classic numbers, row and column totals, numbers marked “together” or “apart”, a plus-shaped count and a knight’s-move count. Bronze on the fourth level of a world opens the next one. The first two worlds are free with a new game on every play and no account; the other three are part of Keentune Pro.

It runs in a browser and in the Keentune app on iOS and Android, and it is walled off from everything the trainer measures — playing it never moves your skill ratings, your practice streak or your weekly league rank. You earn XP toward your overall Level for clearing a level the first time and for each day’s daily — up to 150 a day across all games.

Dig up every safe square and mark every fossil. Each number tells you how many fossils are buried in the squares around it.

1. Tap a square to dig it. A number counts the fossils around that square; a blank one has none, so its neighbours open for you.

2. Long-press a square — or switch the toolbar to Mark — to mark a fossil. Every dig and every mark is checked the moment you make it.

3. A wrong move never ends the dig: the square puts itself right and the clock jumps forward — a little the first time, more each time after.

4. Every board can be solved by logic alone. You never have to guess: when you are stuck, there is a deduction you have not spotted yet.

5. Tap a number whose fossils are all marked to dig the rest of its squares in one go. On some boards a dug square shows “?” — it is safe, but keeps its number to itself.

6. Stuck? “Where to look” rings the clues that matter, and “Show why” explains the step. Each costs a little time.

7. Each world adds a rule — line totals, together and apart marks, a cross-shaped count, a knight’s-move count. The clock counts up, your time decides gold, silver or bronze, and bronze opens the next level.

Start with the numbers that count only a few undug squares — they settle fastest.

If a number counts exactly as many undug squares as its value, every one of them is a fossil.

Where two numbers share squares, compare them — the difference often settles the squares only one of them counts.
