Observation & Memory practice
Study a scene, then recall the details from memory
Train real observation memory — the skill behind the “study a scene, then answer from recall” sections of police and firefighter entrance exams (the NYPD memorization section, National Testing Network’s FireTEAM observation, and the FCTC video-recall block). You study a described scene — a witness or BOLO description of a person or vehicle, or a firefighter’s size-up of a building — for a few seconds; the scene is then hidden, and you answer a detail question from memory (with a one-time re-show and an untimed option for accessibility). Difficulty scales honestly with how much there is to hold and how little time you get, and every explanation teaches a repeatable way to encode a scene — a fixed head-to-toe or size-up checklist scan — so fewer details slip. Distinct from Memory (digit, letter, and word spans): this is real-world detail recall. • Meets you at your level — never too easy, never too hard.
