Basketball Officiating Mechanics practice
Signals, positioning, and two/three-person systems
Master the craft of working a basketball game — the NFHS officials-manual mechanics that separate knowing the rules from officiating them. Learn the official signals (stop-the-clock, the foul-type and reporting signals, the count and violation signals, the successful three-pointer), the two-person system (lead and trail, primary and secondary coverage, switching on fouls) and the three-person system (lead, center, and trail, strong-side coverage and rotations), plus game administration: the pregame conference and toss, reporting fouls to the table, free-throw and throw-in positioning, the visible arm counts, substitutions and time-outs, and double-whistle resolution. Each question teaches the mechanic and names the classic error (ball-watching, covering the wrong area, a missed rotation). Authored from the public NFHS basketball officials manual using original questions — never real exam items — and stamped to the NFHS high-school code.
